Born and bred in the beautiful, beach-side town of Geelong, Melbourne-based Sam Phay has been writing songs since he was twelve years old. With a passion and natural talent for keys and guitar, it didn’t take long for Sam to start writing heartfelt ballads and up-tempo indie-pop songs beyond his years.
Since participating in the Specific Music APRA AMCOS writing camp, 50 Songs in 5 Days at the end of 2016, Sam has found himself collaborating with producers Lindsay Jackson (Tori Kelly, Nicole Millar, Jessica Mauboy), Louis Schoorl (5 Seconds of Summer, The Veronicas, Daniel Johns) and artists James Crooks and Ryan Keen (U.K), just to name a few.
Sam spent 2017 working with development phase and established artists for some of Australia's major record labels and this year went on to co-write Kuren's latest track 'Never Enough', on which he is the feature vocalist. Sam performed the track with Kuren live on Triple J's Like A Version and at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Sydney. On release, the track was added to key Spotify playlists New Music Friday, Indie Arrivals, New Dance Beats and Monster Dance Hits.
