From sold-out hometown shows, a regional Victorian tour, a hugely successful month-long residency at The Workers Club in Melbourne, being voted #1 in 5Why’s 5 of the Best Local Live Acts of 2016 and named in Forte Magazine’s 20 Bands in Regional Vic Who Killed it in 2016, last year went from strength to strength for indie-rock outfit, Residual.
The Victorian-based band’s second EP, Haunt debuted at #3 on iTunes Australia’s Indie chart and gained widespread media and Spotify support with their single, All For You. Produced by Malcolm Besley (Northeast Party House, City Calm Down), All For You premiered on Tone Deaf and MusicFeeds, turning heads nationwide.
In 2015, the band merged the worlds of Chet Faker and Taylor Swift, releasing a cover of Shake It Off / Talk is Cheap, which saw the band gain strong radio support and global YouTube views. The band then went on to play shows with Australian high-flyers British India, The Getaway Plan, Bluejuice and The Jungle Giants, to name a few.
The boys flew into 2017 with a British India support at The Wool Exchange on January 20, with plans for a cap-city run and a new single in the coming months. Make sure you follow their journey on Instagram and Facebook, because big things are coming from these surf-coast town lads!
